White blazer, cropped blue jeans, nude heels

White blazer, cropped blue jeans, nude heels

I wore this out for dinner (lobster rolls!) with the Princess. I went for a slightly risqué runway look and didn’t wear anything except a bra under the blazer – I safety pinned the blazer so my bra wouldn’t show but I did enjoy quite the plunging neckline. The belt is too long so I’ve looped it around into a knot.

Khaki maxi dress, Lifesavers necklace, orange sandals

I wore this out to dinner with the Princess at one of our local favourites. I like maxi dresses, I don’t find them too formal at all, to me they can be dressed up or down pretty easily. I dressed down with casual sandals, candy jewellery, and glasses, and wore my hair down for a more summery look. The cuff bracelet is from The Shag Bag on Etsy – actually it was the first purchase I ever made from Etsy. I intended to buy 1 or 2 cuffs, but after some wine (and other stuff!) I bought 4 and 2 pairs of earrings – they’re all awesome though, I regret nothing!

Bright blue pants, Cookie's Revenge, black blazer, black pumps

I wore this to go see the Little Princess’s band – the Little Princess being of course, the Princess’s oldest son. I love my Cookie’s Revenge Tank, though mainly because it allows for the possibility of an eight foot tall cookie.

Blue skinny jeans, white button up shirt, red tie, blue cap, black ankle boots

I wore this for an evening out with the Princess. His style is much more conservative than mine – he’s comfortable with me showing (a lot) of skin, but has been on the fence when my outfits edge toward something edgy – but he loved this! He thought I looked ‘wicked cool.’

I have those clips in red and black and if I hadn’t banned myself from shopping until my next birthday, I’d surely pick up a few other colours. I use them pretty often to get the fit right on my button up shirts (I hate tailoring those), and they also hold my tie in place pretty well.

Outfit: April 24th 2011: almost black skinny jeans, charcoal v-neck, black leather motorcycle jacket, navy cap, black combat boots, coral dangly earrings, cherry red purse

I wore this to the David H. Koch theatre for a matinee performance of Seance On A Sunday Afternoon. I love how surprisingly casual some events in New York City can be – there aren’t many cities where I’d even consider wearing jeans to an opera, but in NYC it’s pretty normal for a weekend matinee – especially when you’re attending solo. I do notice that people over 60 or so – men especially, are often in slacks and jackets, which is super spiffy.
