Outfit: Black black and bows

I wore this to attend residency Match Day for The Littlest Princess. We were all a little nervous about it, since this is when he finds out where he’s going to spend his next three years – he could wind up really far away, he and his fiancee might wind up having to live apart for a year or two, he could wind up somewhere totally crap and we’d all have to pretend to be thrilled about the placement. Since my hair is so problematic, it isn’t something I can play with, so I chose a loose fitting top that I could fuss with all day. Adjusting the top to keep it in place totally absorbed my nervous energy. It all worked out though, The Littlest is going to be nearby in a kick ass program! Whoo hoo!!

These shoes are Kate Spade in a size 7. Vanity sizing at it’s worst. A decade ago I was a solid 8.5, 9 in most shoes. Now I’m consistently an 8. But a 7? The last time I wore a size 7 shoe I was in grade 7. And it isn’t like my feet are any smaller than they were.

Size 7 or not, I do love the shoes though. Thanks for peeking in!

I wore this to Radio City Music Hall to see Cirque du Soleil’s, Zarkana. The blouse is way frillier than what I normally wear, and I had a big day of walking ahead of me, so the combat boots were a good fit. The Princess loves when I wear the boots, I think he finds them sexier than most of my high heels.

I wore this to the David H. Koch theatre for a matinee performance of Seance On A Sunday Afternoon. I love how surprisingly casual some events in New York City can be – there aren’t many cities where I’d even consider wearing jeans to an opera, but in NYC it’s pretty normal for a weekend matinee – especially when you’re attending solo. I do notice that people over 60 or so – men especially, are often in slacks and jackets, which is super spiffy.
