Outfit: Crayola denim and shiny flats
May 15, 2012

DIY Crayola pants, white t-shirt, black scarf jacket, black patent snake skin loafers, cherry red bag

I wore this to drop off some shoes for Vibram resoling in NYC. This was the first outing for my DIY Crayola jeans and while they looked pretty awesome in person (the lighting is a little dark in these photos for the colour to really pop) I found that not being able to properly set the colour was really an issue. The part of my upper thigh where my jacket rests and rubs is now pretty devoid of striping! And I’m pretty sure I couldn’t put these in the laundry.

I definitely want to try it again with the right materials.

Outfit: Crazed rosey hoodies
April 23, 2012

Blue skinny jeans, sheer rose zipper front hoodie, rose faux leather jacket, grey and pink heels

I don’t know how the self timer managed to make me look this crazy. Well, capture me looking this crazy. Ah well. Anyhow, I wore this out for groceries last week, the shirt is sheer but not scandalous, so it seemed fine for a local store. And it isn’t like I left the house braless and nipply.

I love these shoes, they’re Vicini and I snagged them on sale. Though, I buy almost everything on sale, so that isn’t noteworthy. I wish the whole sole was bright yellow, especially since I don’t know how bright the strip that peeks out around the shoe will stay. We’ll see – though since I’m trying to wear all and neglect none of my shoes, the colour might stay bright for some time.

Outfit: What to wear to a Superbowl party?
February 6, 2012

Blue straight legged jeans, black and grey striped shirt, military green cropped jacket, silver necklaces, Ruthie Davis black booties

Inexplicably, the Princess and I were invited to, and actually decided to attend a Superbowl party. We know almost nothing about football, we didn’t know what teams were playing, and until we called to ask, we had assumed this thing would start around 2pm and be over by 6. Surprise!

Superbowl parties sound pretty casual – jerseys and face paint etc, but considering our host and the likely attendees, we figured he could wear jeans and a button up shirt, and I should simply keep it casual without painting my face in unknown team colours. I refused to wear flats.

The food was yummy – they had a huge buffet, which included a full turkey dinner! The people were friendly and fun – half the guest were in the same boat as The Princess and myself and knew nothing about football. The other half were pretty appalled at our having to ask who was playing. We decided to route for New York and were well rewarded!

Blue skinny jeans, white t-shirt, comic shoes

Yea! The Comic book shoes in action. I wore this out for dinner with the Princess. Unfortunately, the shoes are actually pretty uncomfortable – which is the reason I used them for the comic book thing in the first place, I didn’t want to ruin a pair of shoes I loved. Except, the shoe turned out awesome and now I have to suffer through the pinching toes. Anyone out there with a narrow size 8?

May 10, 2011

Blue skinny jeans, white button up shirt, red tie, blue cap, black ankle boots

I wore this for an evening out with the Princess. His style is much more conservative than mine – he’s comfortable with me showing (a lot) of skin, but has been on the fence when my outfits edge toward something edgy – but he loved this! He thought I looked ‘wicked cool.’

I have those clips in red and black and if I hadn’t banned myself from shopping until my next birthday, I’d surely pick up a few other colours. I use them pretty often to get the fit right on my button up shirts (I hate tailoring those), and they also hold my tie in place pretty well.
